QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME

(Sponsored by  AICTE)

The Government of India launched the Quality Improvement Programme in the year 1970. One of the main objectives of the programme is to upgrade the expertise and capabilities of the faculty members of the degree level institutions in the country. The programme is now being implemented and monitored by AICTE. A number of short term courses have also been organized by QIP centers for the benefit of faculty members from Engineering Institutions. Our college has been selected as a QIP centre (Quality Improvement Centre) by AICTE from the academic year 2016-17. Three departments 1. Civil Engineering 2. Mechanical Engineering, 3. Electrical and Electronics Engineering have been recognized to admit Ph.D scholars with Central Government assistance.

                        A one week short term course in  Soft Computing and its Emerging Applications.  was conducted by EEE department from 20.03.2017 to 26.03.2017 and it was inaugurated by Dr.J.Preethi, Head of the Departments of Computer Applications, Anna University Regional Campus, Coimbatore.

The one week course had sessions handled by resource persons from various colleges and also from our college. A one-day industrial visit to M/s. Hindustan solar power plant, Sivagangai was also arranged as a part of the programme. The course was attended by over 30 participants.
